Dr. Lehi Dickey

Social Justice and Equity

Social justice reminds us that everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities and to be treated without prejudice. When institutions make decisions or act in ways that discriminate against someone because of their race, religion, age, gender or sexuality, this is a social injustice.

We must remember that Racism is a learned behavior. It is not enough to teach our youth not to be racist, we must teach to be anti-racist. Through education, the future of racism and human rights can look different. My goal consists of:

  1. Help your children learn how to identify and cope when it happens and also how to develop a mindset and positive behaviors that create lasting change.

  1. Empower our youth to become advocates and make a difference.

  1. Learn how to become civically engaged and change agents for their communities.
